But this week Pokemon Go exploded on the scene. And to play it you must use your Mobile device.
In an article in Wired, Matt Kamen wrote:"We all know Pokémon Go is a massive success. It has almost instantaneously become the most successful Android and iOS game following its release in the US, spiked Nintendo's share prices, renewed a bidding war over movie rights, and already been cloned in China."
Corporate Impact: Cellphone service providers are big winners due to usage overages as gamers exceed their data plans. Longer lasting battery pack providers may see a sales surge. In app purchases will be a boon to Nintendo.
The impact of this to you the app developer:
All right you may be bummed out that you didn't have a hand in developing this world shakin' app. But what if you spin that reaction on its head? Given your creativity, credentials and experience in apps development (iOS, Android, graphics, UI/UX, etc), you can decide to take those skill sets to a company that is developing the next killer game, unique product utilizing apps technology…. Or maybe you design, create, specify, code, test/debug and publish an app that can do some world shakin' of its own.The sky is the limit! What a time to be an apps developer! As always we welcome your comments and feedback.
